Procedure for Keeping Record of Crew Members’ Hours of Work and Hours of Rest

This Regulation is established under § 50 (2) of the Seafarers Employment Act.

§ 1.  Scope of regulation

  This Regulation establishes the procedure for keeping record of the hours of work and hours of rest of crew members working on ships entered in the Estonian ship registry or register of bareboat chartered ships.

§ 2.  Keeping record of crew members’ hours of work and hours of rest

 (1) The master of a ship or another competent person shall keep record of each crew member’s hours of work and hours of rest according to the form for keeping record of working hours and hours of rest of seafarer provided for in the Annex to this Regulation.

 (2) Record of hours of work and hours of rest shall be kept separately for each calendar month. Entries in the table concerning crew members’ hours of work and hours of rest shall be made no less than once per 24 hours. Record shall be kept in Estonian and English.
